Delegation of Network of Aquaculture Centers in Asia-Pacific (NACA) visited Nutriera Group

On 26th,December, 2018, a delegation consisting of Dr. Cherdsak Virapat, the Director General of NACA,Prof. Liu Yingjie, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (CAFS), Prof. Zhu Xinping, Deputy Director-General of Pearl River Fisheries Research Institute (PRFRI), and experts from Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute (YSFRI), South China Sea Fisheries Research Institute (SCSFRI). They visited the head office of Nutriera Group in Guangzhou. Dr. Yang Yong, the President of Nutriera Group, Dr. Zhang Song, the Vice President of Nutriera Group, and some senior technical & managing executives from Nutriera Group, gave a warm welcome and hospitality to the respected guests.

Ms. He Fen, Director of Quality and Brand of Nutriera Group, gave a detailed introduction about business layout and international progress of Nutriera Group, which impressed the guests deeply.

Dr. Cherdsak Virapat gave highly recognition on Nutriera Group’s rapid progress in business and internationalization process, and hoped NACA to build a long-term collaborative relationship with Nutriera Group in the areas such as aquatic animal health, fishery talents training and sustainable model researches and etc. Dr. Cherdsak Virapat expected NACA could make more contributions to its member nations’ aquaculture and further promote a sound and rapid industry development in Asia-Pacific region, with the actively participating of Nutriera Group.

Both sides also conducted a deep discussion on some topics of common interest, including features of Asia-Pacific aquaculture development, breeding technology, diseases control and prevention, new farming models, seabass farming technology, shrimp breeders import, aqua feed development prospect and so on.

Prof. Liu Yingjie, Vice President of CAFS, highlighted Nutriera Group’s outstanding achievements in internationalization process. He mentioned that as the largest aquaculture nation in the world, there should be more Chinese voices appeared in international organizations and stages. In addition, Prof. Zhu Xinping, Deputy Director-General of PRFRI and experts from YSFRI and SCSFRI exchanged their experiences on Chinese fishery how to contribute more in global aquaculture.

Finally, Dr. Cherdsak Virapat warmly invited Nutriera Group experts participating in successor activities organized by NACA. NACA schedule to hold its 30th Council Annual Conference in Guangzhou, China. It probably holds in the early 2019, Nutriera Group would be invited to the conference as a partner.

Nutriera Group is one of the earliest Chinese teams to go overseas market. They have accumulated numerous customers resources abroad, especially in Asia-Pacific region, and gaining renowned brand reputation and influence. At present, Nutriera’s business has expanded to more than 20 nations, and set up representative offices in near 10 nations. NACA was formed by International treaty titled Agreement on the Network of Aquaculture Centers in Asia and Pacific signed in Bangkok in 1988. At present, 19 government members of the NACA governing council and related research and development (R&D) institutions are engaged in NACA, including China, Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam etc. NACA plays a vital role in the promotion of rapid aquaculture development in Asia-Pacific region.
